About CA Cycle

CA Cycle is one of many Integrated Studies taught at Calgary Academy. Students learn hands on skills such as:

  • bicycle repair and maintenance
  • ski and snowboard tuning
  • racket re-stringing
  • bird house construction
  • skateboard lamination and graphics design
  • bike furniture building

CA Cycle provides students the opportunity to build and maintain a portfolio while they experience hands-on exposure to specific mechanical skills. The shop setting is also where students are taught life skills such as goal setting, leadership, mentoring, reflections & peer teaching.

Mission Statement

To teach valuable mechanical skills while bettering the community through the recycling of bicycles.

REACH ...

Students are constantly encouraged to REACH for their personal best. REACH, which is symbolic of striving for a higher level, stands for:

  • Respect
  • Enthusiasm
  • Altruism
  • Commitment
  • Honesty
